Summer in Toronto means Street Festivals for many city dwellers. While a small minority flee the city to lakes, parks and cottages, thousands plan ahead to enjoy the cultural festivals, weekend after weekend.
Sadly, in 2020 post COVID19, everything has been cancelled. Since moving to Toronto in 2011 I've painted images of the multicultural vibe that summer brings. "Taste of Little Italy 2011", oil on canvas, 20"x20". It seemed like everyone was there on College Street, except the Italians.
ARTIST BIO Jennylynd James discovered a hidden talent for drawing and painting while working as an entrepreneur in the Republic of Ireland. Her artsy flair in running a food business took an interesting turn when in an amateur art class the artist instructor found she excelled in portraiture and sketching. She uses the vivid colours of her heritage to influence her work. Jennylynd now lives in Bloor West Village, Toronto where she has embraced self expression in art as a new lifestyle.
